The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band

Who are we?

The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band is a 35-piece Canadian Armed Forces Reserve Band within 37 Canadian Brigade Group, based in St. John’s, NL, Canada. Besides providing part-time employment to musicians, we offer summer employment opportunities, post-secondary tuition reimbursement, a pension plan, dental plan, and travel benefits with major airlines.

The band is a proud sub-unit of the famed Royal Newfoundland Regiment, whose origins stretch back to the late 1700s and whose battle honours include the War of 1812 and the First World War.

What do we do?

The band provides music for military and ceremonial occasions and parades, builds esprit de corps, and acts as a musical ambassador for the military. The band travels, too. Since 2013, we’ve travelled and performed in Ohio, St. Pierre and Miquelon, France and Belgium. All expenses are paid, plus you’re paid for every day you work or travel.
